One of the basic rules when driving off-road is that you need to know the terrain. If you don’t, make sure to check it on foot before driving it in a 4×4. Especially on those slopes where you don’t see the other side. Many people ignore this advice when they’re behind the wheel.

Tiklas Falls, Gingoog City

When you are in Gingoog City, include in your itinerary even just a short visit at Tiklas Falls and feel the beauty of nature at its best.

dsc00443.JPG

Tiklas is 13 kilometers from the city proper/poblacion on the concrete Bal-ason-Hindangon farm to market road. The jump off point is at the Balantian Bridge where vehicles can be parked and a wide 300 meter trail leads to the waterfalls and the swimming pools being developed by the local government of Gingoog. The development is still going on with the improvement of the pools and the construction of the cottages and other facilities.

Tiklas Falls is 120 ft. high with an oval pool with a diameter of more than 30 meters with some deep portions reaching 60 feet.

The beautiful falls like a bridal flowing headdress has been made centerpiece of the province’s brochures, posters and streamers/tarpaulins. This paradise philippines falls is one of the three cascades on the same stream; 500 meters below stream is Kilubag falls and still downstream over 20 meters is another falls, the Bangbang or Gantangon falls.

^caGayan de Oro White WateR RaFting^

Cagayan de Oro is one of the growing cities in

Mindanao which has many places that we can consider as a tourist spot. Cagayan de Oro is a place where people are so friendly and kind, that’s why they called it as a City of

Golden Friendship
. I think all the tourist has been in Cagayan de Oro are enjoying when the time that they stay in the City of

Golden Friendship. When you have planned to go in Cagayan de Oro then you most not miss that day to experience there white water rafting.

White Water Rafting - there is really nothing quite like rafting trip in Cagayan de Oro River. The Stretch from Barangay Dansolihon to the city provides us with strikingly beautiful panoramic view of the river rocky walls, untouched vegetation and the sight of the resting haven monkeys. It has breathtaking rapids that provides the more adventurous with thrills and challenges of rapids intervals not less than 10- 15 minutes of each other. Cagayan de Oro River has everything that makes a memorable experience with awesome roar and power of water cascading rock and boulders.

sO.,here are some little tidbits on what we actually did during my hOLy wEek vAcatioN at siARgao isLand., PhiLippinEz… and hopefully give some of you who are interested to go there, some ideas as well.. Beware, this will be a long entry. =)

Going to Siargao is an experience in itself alone… You would be able to ride all means of transportation just by going there.. sea-land transpo?? — you’ve got them all..<<aZ in… kApoi daUn aU nGa tRip..bUt,, wORthL it ayOh..hEhe.>>

We arrived at Siargao Island at about 7 or 8 in the evening <<aPriL 2, 2007>> and we were a bit tired from all the traveling that we decided to eat and just frolic in the beach.. The resort we stayed in could offer you a lot of things to do so there would be no worries regarding how you wanted to spend your day…<<thaNkz fOr tHe cAbuntog ResoRt., tHe sTaFf theRe.., aNd tO mAyOr RusiLLon and famiLy… gRabeh cLah kAh buOtan sAh amOh…hEheh…imAgine…wE’ve gOt aLL thE sERvices fOr fRee..hoOOh…>>

thEn.,WE left early mOnday morning <<apriL 9, 2007>> with good ‘ole memories of this beautiful island of Siargao.. Heck no, I’m not being sappy, but the place just kind of made me fall in love with it..<<aNd sO wuth the peOpLe tHeRe… <<hahAha>>.. There were so many activities to do there which was really cool cause it’s not a haven for beach buffs only.. You get to surf, island hop, spelunking amongst other things.. Everything there was so different from Cagayan de Oro CiTy and so laidback that you wish you could afford all the time in the world to do that…

Anyway, I’m ending this absolutely and shudderingly bLog entry of mine..hAHaYyzt… (aYay..muRag tAas2x sAd jUd nih nGa entRy…)…What patience and time you must have for reading up tiL this last line.. bwAhaha..thaNKz… =)
